20, Barakhamba Road
20, Barakhamba Road. Accesibility from south Delhi best by M-13 or 440 bus. Get off at Scindia House
(
Last week, I wanted to go to Janpath. Very strange quest. Looking for a curio which I ultimately did not find. This woman on the bus did NOT let me pass on Scindia approach. She stood in my way and said, in English, "Don't get impatient!"
Ok. I was stuck between so many people that I couldn't look out the window to check whether we were stopping at a light or at the stop. Of course, when we started moving again, and then didn't jerk to a halt soon, I knew I had been-only one word-buggered.
I got off at Regal, cursing, but went to Khadi Gramodyog instead. Spent a valuable half or three quarters of an hour and zeroed in on the black kurta and perhaps the turquoise.
At the counter, decide not to buy either and go to Fabindia instead.
The guard at the gate asks, "Haan Madam, kya liya aapne?"
"Kuch nahin."
)
and walk to Statesman, and you'll find it if you ask for the Metro station.
I bet you don't know what #20 is. Well, it's a ruin.
Yeah. Right there, the Metro on one side, lowcloud-scraper (well not quite a sky-scaper) on the other.
And yes, this is also why I love the city.
